TOPIC - Due 9/1 - Album Review

If art has any practical use whatsoever - and it's obviously arguable that it does - it lies in the fact that the art you allow into your life (and soul) plays a significant role in the life (or soul) you build for yourself. So our assigment for this week is the rather trite album review, with the hopefully un-trite twist that I want it in the context of your life - not necessarily the story of how the album came into your life or what specific events it affected (though that's all welcome if you so choose), but rather of how you've incorporated it into that life. In other words, don't just describe the album, but try and show what about it is so compelling that you've incorporated it, or some piece of it, into who you are.

If no music has ever had this kind of effect on you, then just take the week off.

Word Limit: 1000 words
Time Limit: 8 Days

Get to work, gentlemen.

Really don't mind if I sit this one out. My internerd connection is sporadic due to the moving. Jim - if you would, mail me the next topic to PO Box 77, Tennant Creek 0861. I will reply in writing, if this is acceptable.

Fair enough. But I think that the next topic choice is Neo's.

We are defined in the eyes of others by the tools we carry and the clothes we wear. In essence, our appearance gives us our rank and position in society. The clothes make the man - the police uniform makes the police officer, the saber makes the cavalryman, the plunger the plumber and so forth. But some objects are invested with greater powers - legends spring up around them and people yearn to possess them. The ring of Caesar and the sword Excalibur for instance. The topic therefore is "Artifacts". As great men surely you carry totems of your rank or items of power. Speak of them here. What are they, what are they for, from whence do they come? Lay out your preciouses for the world to hear of and wonder at. Or if you have none yourself, speak of one you would possess. 1,000 words maximum, 8 days from the time at which this is copied to the front page.
