TOPIC, due 8/3 - "Of Myth and Men"

Homilies are nasty, venal tired little things. Generally we classify them according to where they come from - the church (parables), the storybooks (fables), the classics (heroic tales), and folklore (old wive's tales).

However, instead of some kind of searing insight, they are often penetratingly stupid, wilfully naive or psychologically fucked. They apply in only the narrowest of situations, and the people (and animals, and plants, and spirits) within them act in a way which leads you to question their sanity.

So, find an old story, a fable, a nursery rhyme, or a big fat cliche, and re-write the fucker until it meets the exacting and unpleasant standards of WW3.
